Ella, Billie and The Founding Mothers of Jazz
Award-winning vocalist Thana Alexa and The MusicTalks Jazz Quartet in a celebration of the women of Jazz. Some of the most beloved jazz standards were actually written by women such as Lil Armstrong (the wife of Louis Armstrong) and Alice Coltrane (the wife of John Coltrane)! We will feature music by Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday and share the untold stories of the founding mothers of Jazz.

Virtuoso recorder player singer and composer Tali Rubenstein presents a jazzy spin on holiday favorites, joined by guest star performer Daniel Reichard of the original Jersey Boys. In this holiday edition of MusicTalks, Tali’s funk infused rendition of favorites such as the nutcracker transports the audience to the ultimate Winter Wonderland.

Celebration of blues
2019 GRAMMY nominee Jazz Vocalist Nicole Zuraitis and MusicTalks Jazz Quartet present an evening celebrating the world of the Blues. Blues songs are often misperceived as grievances, but in fact, the art celebrates life in all its complexity. Miss Zuraitis will perform popular standards by a wide range of artist from Duke Ellington, Billie Holiday Charlie Parker to pop songs by Elvis Presley and the Led Zeppelin.

MusicTalks celebrates Ella Fitzgerald’s centennial in a special concert featuring MusicTalks Jazz Quartet, and award-winning vocalist Thana Alexa. The program features milestone standards that inspired the legendary Ella Fitzgerald and highlight her journey from debut performance at the Apollo Theater’s Amateur Night to her groundbreaking career as one of the most celebrated jazz artists of the 20th Century.

Recorders – Not Just for Kids
A unique concert experience shining a spotlight on the recorder, an ancient instrument with a rich history and surprising versatility. Recorder Virtuoso Tali Rubinstein is joined by a five piece band to present a wide range of music spanning from the recorder’s golden age in the Baroque era to modern times bending the limits of this antique wooden flute in jazz, soul, and world music.
