New York city based musician Tali Rubinstein is an internationally acclaimed recorder player from Israel, specializing in jazz, contemporary and composing original music. Tali began studying classical performance with Bracha Kol early on, and later graduated from prestigious music institutions in Israel: Thelma Yellin High School of the Arts, Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, and The Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. In 2014 Tali graduated with honors from Berklee College of Music in Boston.
Tali composed and played for the Latin Grammy Award winning album “Entre 20 Aguas”, alongside Chick Corea, Dhafer Youssef, Michel Camilo, Chucho Valdéz and Alejandro Sanz, and was the recipient of numerous awards such as The AICF Scholarships 1994-2006; Second prize at the 7th International Recorder Festival Contest 2004 in Utrecht; Full tuition scholarship and the W.S. Kenney award for outstanding achievement (Berklee College). In April 2014 she performed in the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington D.C., representing Berklee College.
Tali collaborated on several projects with Grammy Award winning Spanish producer Javier Limón, who she’s currently working with on her first solo album. She has also played with: Alejandro Sanz (arranging and performing on the Latin Grammys), Anat Cohen, Alain Mallet, Tomatito, El Piraña, Alain Pérez, Shedrick Mitchell, Emil Zrihan, Jamey Haddad, Moshav band, Noah Aronson, and Kevin Mahogany. Tali has played with leading Israeli artists Yoni Rechter, Idan Raichel, David Broza, Dan Toren, Knessiat Hasechel, Dana Berger, Shimon Buskila, Ilanit, Shuli Natan, and Dudu Fisher. Tali performed as soloist with the Thelma-Yellin Orchestra, the Rimon Jazz Institute Big Band, and the Israeli Andalusian Orchestra.
Tali has performed in Israel, The Netherlands, Spain, Germany, France, Taiwan (representing Israel in the 3rd Asian Recorder Festival), Canada, and the USA, and soon to perform also in Denmark and the Philippines.
