MusicTalks Cello & Bass Master Course
Welcome to MusicTalks Cello & Bass Master Course – Summer 2024
August 4-8, 2024 Final Concert: Thursday, August 8th at 7pm
JCC Manhattan, 334 Amsterdam Ave. New York
During this five-day intensive course led by Cellist Elad Kabilio, Bassist Joshua Depoint and Samuel Zagnit students will participate in scale and warm up workshops, Bach Classes, cello ensemble coachings, master classes, and have the opportunity to learn chamber music masterpieces coached and performed side by side with renowned New York professional musicians with a focus on Schubert Cello Quintet and Dvorak Bass quintet. Selected students will have the opportunity to solo with our chamber orchestra performing Haydn, Boccherini, Elgar and Vivaldi concertos as well as Kol Nidre and Elegie by Faure
Intermediate to advance cellists should apply, aged 10-18.
Cost: $1000 / 1500 (for soloists)
Scholarships are available upon application.
Example of daily schedule
9am – Scales and warmup workshop
9:45am – Bach Class
10:30 Chamber music coaching
11:30am Audition Preparation Class
12-1:30pm – lunch and practice time
1:30-2:30pm – Cello ensemble
2:30-3pm break
3-4pm – Masterclass
MusicTalks Cello Day 2023
Join us for our in-person cello intensive day this August for ages 5-18. DATE TBA
The day will be about “all things cello” with group lessons, masterclass, cello choir, performance workshop and ending the day with a live concert for family and friends!
Students will have the opportunity to learn and perform side by side with our acclaimed faculty including members of Manhattan School of Music.
